From September 18 to 21, 2026, the 2nd National Plant Ecology Congress together with the Editorial Board Meeting of Chinese Journal of Plant Ecology was grandly held at the South Campus of Inner Mongolia University in Hohhot. Co‑hosted by Chinese Journal of Plant Ecology, the Plant Ecology Professional Committee of the Botanical Society of China and Inner Mongolia University, the conference adopted the theme of "Building a Solid Northern Ecological Security Barrier: New Missions and Breakthroughs for Plant Ecology".

Eight parallel sessions were set up for this congress, covering plant physiological ecology and functional traits, plant‑microbe interactions, soil carbon cycling, vegetation ecology and biodiversity, 3D‑vegetation and AI technology development & application, ecosystem remote‑sensing observation and simulation, monitoring, conservation and restoration of typical vulnerable ecosystems, as well as ecological function evolution and global change. The event drew 344 experts, scholars and postgraduate students from 100 institutions nationwide, who gathered to discuss cutting‑edge advances and hot‑button issues across relevant research fields.

As a conference sponsor, LICA actively participated and supported the smooth running of the event. At its exhibition booth, company representatives held in‑depth discussions with numerous researchers on greenhouse‑gas flux monitoring solutions and the application of remote‑sensing technologies in eco‑environmental studies.

The conference built a high‑level communication platform for plant‑ecology experts and scholars across China, facilitating academic exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration. LICA will keep track of domestic development trends in plant ecology to gather key references for optimizing its existing technical solutions and improving service quality.
