From September 17 to 18, the 2026 China Land‑Observation Satellite Remote‑Sensing Technical Exchange and User Training Conference was successfully held in Lanzhou, Gansu Province. Co‑hosted by the China Centre for Resources Satellite Data and Application, Lanzhou University, and the Northwest Institute of Eco‑Environment and Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences, supported by the China Association for Remote‑Sensing Applications, and organized by the Specialized Committee for Remote‑Sensing Satellite Data Processing under the China Association for Remote‑Sensing Applications, the conference adopted the theme of “Photothermal Remote Sensing · Perceive Everything Intelligently”.

Centering on core topics including thermal‑infrared and visible‑light satellite payload data processing, radiometric calibration and industrial applications, the conference drew more than 150 representatives from 63 user institutions across 18 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities nationwide. Participants discussed cutting‑edge achievements in thermal‑infrared and visible‑light remote‑sensing technologies together with senior industry experts and scholars.

During the event, representatives from LICA United showcased the company’s technical achievements and typical application cases in ecological remote‑sensing monitoring. Numerous experts, scholars and attendees stopped by the booth for visits and in‑depth exchanges. Centering on practical demands, participants jointly explored innovative application pathways for remote‑sensing technology in geological surveys, ecological restoration, dual‑carbon monitoring and other scenarios.

Remote‑sensing technology serves as a core tool for Earth observation and a cornerstone for the high‑quality development of China’s space‑air information industry. The successful convening of this conference has built a cross‑industry and cross‑regional exchange platform for researchers. Meanwhile, it deepened LICA United’s understanding of data‑processing techniques and practical applications for domestic land‑observation infrared and visible‑light satellites. Aligned with its business priorities, LICA United will further advance the practical application of remote‑sensing technologies, continuously improve technical capabilities and service quality, and deliver enhanced efficiency for scenarios such as ecological‑environment monitoring, smart agriculture and dual‑carbon assessment.
