From September 14 to 17, 2026, the 2026 Advanced Training Program sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security — the Advanced Training Course on Ecosystem Carbon Sink Monitoring Technology and Accounting Methods — was successfully held at the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Supported by the Bureau of Human Resources of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, this event was jointly organized by the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, CAS and the Chinese Ecosystem Research Network (CERN).

Centering on the formation mechanism, observation techniques, survey‑based monitoring and accounting approaches of ecosystem carbon sinks, the training invited academicians and leading experts in relevant fields. Teaching was delivered through thematic lectures, case presentations, special seminars and assessment tests. Its curriculum covered five modules: the dual‑carbon strategy, ecological carbon‑sink potential and carbon‑sequestration pathways; greenhouse‑gas flux observation technologies; greenhouse‑gas concentration monitoring technologies; carbon stock survey and monitoring technologies; as well as ecosystem carbon‑sink accounting methodologies.

Beijing LICA United Technology Limited was invited to participate in this training course and delivered a report titled “Soil Greenhouse‑Gas Flux Measurement Technology and Practical Applications”. The company shared its years of field‑proven cases and practical experience in ecological monitoring with experts and participants. Meanwhile, LICA set up an onsite booth, which drew numerous attendees for indepth exchanges.

Ecosystem carbon sequestration constitutes a critical pathway toward carbon neutrality. This advanced training program facilitated the effective integration of monitoring technologies, observation data and accounting methods, and improved practitioners capabilities to tackle real‑world challenges.Going forward, LICA will continue to deepen its efforts in ecological‑environmental monitoring, keep improving its technologies and services, and contribute expertise and solutions to the sustainable development of the ecological‑monitoring industry.
