From April 24 to 26, the 1st National Academic Symposium on Wetland Ecological Protection and Development was successfully held in Guangzhou. Hosted by the Chinese Society of Forestry and the National Key Laboratory of Wetland Environmental Protection and Ecological Restoration, the conference was themed "High-Quality Development of Wetlands in the New Era: Protection, Restoration, and Value Transformation." It attracted over 500 experts and scholars from research institutes, universities, and professional organizations nationwide to exchange insights on wetlands and related fields.
The conference featured 10 thematic sessions covering wetland eco-hydrology, carbon sinks and climate change, biodiversity, ecological restoration, ecological security, mangrove protection, monitoring technologies, wetland cities and landscape design, agricultural wetlands, and wetland conservation and adaptive management. A total of nearly 100 keynote, invited, and specialized presentations were delivered.
As an active participant in the field of ecological and environmental monitoring, LICA joined the symposium to discuss the high-quality development of wetlands in the new era with experts and scholars. At the sub-forum on "Mangrove Ecological Effects and Their Protection and Restoration," LICA delivered a special presentation titled "Comprehensive Observation Schemes and Application Practices for Multi-Element Wetland Ecosystems." The presentation systematically shared LICA's technological breakthroughs and practical cases in wetland carbon cycling and greenhouse gas emissions, wetland vegetation responses and ecological restoration assessment, as well as long-term fixed monitoring and multi-source data integration, sparking enthusiastic discussions and in-depth exchanges among the attending experts and scholars.
In addition, during the conference, LICA representatives showcased the company's latest practical achievements and application solutions in ecological monitoring. They engaged in discussions with research teams from across the country on technical challenges in wetland protection and restoration, as well as the translation of industry-university-research achievements, fully demonstrating the company's professional strength in the field of ecological and environmental monitoring.
