From May 8 to 10, the "2025 International Smart Agriculture Technology Innovation Forum" hosted by Nanjing Agricultural University, the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Agricultural Zoning of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the National Agricultural Informatization Engineering Technology Research Center and other authoritative institutions was grandly held at the Binjiang Campus of Nanjing Agricultural University. More than 1,000 representatives from more than 230 domestic and foreign scientific research institutions, colleges and universities, and agricultural enterprises in the field of smart agriculture participated in the event. This forum, with the theme of "Smart Agriculture Technology Innovation and Sustainable Development", attracted 6 Chinese and foreign academicians, more than 30 heads of national scientific research institutions and more than 100 well-known experts from home and abroad. In their speeches at the opening ceremony, leaders of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, Nanjing Municipal Government and Nanjing Agricultural University repeatedly emphasized the importance of collaborative innovation between industry, academia and research, and proposed to accelerate the cultivation of new agricultural productivity through technological breakthroughs and industrial integration.

At the opening ceremony, Tang Huajun, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and former president of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Luo Xiwen, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor of South China Agricultural University, Zhou Chenghu, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and researcher of the Institute of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Zhao Chunjiang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of the National Engineering Technology Research Center for Agricultural Informatization, Li Peiwu, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and researcher of the Oil Crops Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Chen Jingming, academician of the Royal Society of Canada and professor of the University of Toronto, respectively delivered keynote speeches on "Millennium Changes in Agricultural Development and Agricultural Development Strategies in the New Era", "Research Progress in Smart Agriculture in China", "Research on Application of Precision Agriculture Remote Sensing Big Data", "Smart Agriculture to Promote Sustainable Development", "Prospects of Smart Detection and Smart Supervision of Agricultural Product Quality and Safety", and "Exploration of Collaborative Remote Sensing Inversion of Leaf Area Index and Chlorophyll Content".
