Reduced Burden: Mobile Phone Replaces Laptop
FSA smart handle abandons laptops and computer trays. Users do not need to carry dedicated terminals and can use personal mobile phones or tablets for operation, which not only reduces equipment weight but also saves costs. Dedicated cross-platform software is compatible with major mainstream operating systems, including Android, iOS, Windows, and Huawei Harmony OS. It can be downloaded to the user's terminal to establish a connection with the FSA handle, enabling remote control and data transmission of the spectrometer. This design makes field data collection work easier and more efficient.
Standardized, Automatically Controls Angle
Measurement of ground objects usually requires the instrument to be perpendicular to the surface of the object being measured, which is a prerequisite for obtaining accurate spectral data. However, it is challenging to achieve complete vertically in manual operation, which can cause tilt errors and impact data accuracy. The FSA smart handle adopts an ergonomic design, which is comfortable and easy to use. More importantly, it integrates a pan-tilt system to achieve automatic vertical positioning, standardize measurement angles, and ensure accuracy. The pan-tilt system automatically adjusts the instrument angle vertically to avoid tilt errors introduced by manual operation, making measurements more flexible and providing a wider field of view.
Field of view, real-time control of acquisition objects
During operation, the FSA smart handle can display the current actual measurement range of the ASD FieldSpec series instrument in real time on the connected mobile phone or tablet screen. This allows the operator to clearly understand the data source and coverage of the spectral acquisition, thereby avoiding the accidental acquisition of non-target samples and preventing errors or irrelevant information in the spectral results, which can affect data accuracy.
During the whiteboard calibration process, accurately acquiring the whiteboard reflectance spectrum is the basis for obtaining reliable measurement results. The FSA handle can clearly show the actual position and range of the whiteboard in the ASD FieldSpec field of view, allowing the operator to accurately aim at the center of the whiteboard to ensure that the whiteboard covers the entire field of view. This significantly enhances the precision and accuracy of the measurement results, providing a crucial assurance for subsequent sample analysis.
Comprehensive, Assisted Information Collection
When using the ASD FieldSpec series of products for field research, operators usually need to record various relevant information as a reference for subsequent data analysis. This information may include photos of the target object, sky conditions, precise geographic coordinates, and other pertinent details. In the past, recording and organizing this reference information often required considerable effort and time for the operator.
To solve this problem, the FSA smart handle integrates a variety of sensors and features an automatic recording and organization function for this reference information. Its built-in camera can capture images of the target object or research area; the GPS module can provide accurate geographic location information; the ambient light sensor and temperature and humidity sensor can detect the environmental conditions at the time. The FSA smart handle can automatically associate and organize the various reference information it collects with the spectral data generated by the ASD FieldSpec. This enables researchers to obtain the required environmental reference information immediately and expedite the data processing process. At the same time, this also dramatically reduces the operator's workload, eliminating the need to manually record and enter a large amount of relevant data, thereby avoiding errors or omissions that can occur.
Thoughtful, voice broadcast prompts
Previously, the ASD FieldSpec series of products primarily relied on laptop screens to display data collection information; however, the screen display was limited under strong light conditions in the field.
The FSA handle features a new voice feedback function, which broadcasts the working status and data information of the FieldSpec series of products in real-time, replacing the need for screen display. This allows researchers to focus on observation and analysis without needing to perform frequent screen checks. The operator continuously monitors and records the entire data collection process to ensure efficient and accurate fieldwork.
Extension, expandable functions
The FSA features two fiber clamping holes, allowing for the simultaneous control of two spectrometers. Additionally, it can control both an ASD spectrometer and an ultra-high-resolution spectrometer (SIF).
