Lica United Technology Limited participated in the 2025 International Academic Symposium on Coastal Blue Carbon Science and Application and the Second Annual Academic Conference of the China Coastal Blue Carbon Observation and Research Alliance
The "2025 International Academic Symposium on Coastal Blue Carbon Science and Application and the Second Annual Academic Conference of the China Coastal Blue Carbon Observation and Research Alliance" was held in Shanghai from May 26 to 29, 2025. The theme of this conference was "In-depth discussion of the current status and future trends of international coastal blue carbon development, and building an international first-class blue carbon exchange and cooperation platform", which attracted more than 150 experts, scholars, young students and corporate representatives from more than 60 universities and research institutes at home and abroad.
The conference specially invited internationally renowned experts such as Professor Lin Guanghui of Tsinghua University, Professor Richard Bellerby of the Norwegian Institute of Water Sciences, Professor Charles Galdies of the University of Malta, Professor William Austin of the University of St. Andrews, Professor Du Jinzhou of East China Normal University, Professor Korhan Özkan of Middle East Technical University, and Researcher Wang Faming of the South China Botanical Garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences to give conference reports, covering cutting-edge fields such as key processes of coastal blue carbon, carbon sink mechanisms, monitoring technologies, and the connection between science and policy, bringing an academic feast to the participants.
During the conference, several special sub-forums were set up, covering several key areas of coastal blue carbon research. About 40 young scholars shared their latest research results. These sharing not only sparked sparks of thinking, but also injected new vitality into the field of coastal blue carbon. At the end of the meeting, the delegates went to the Chinese Sturgeon Nature Reserve Base, Chongming Ecological Research Institute and Xisha Wetland Park in Chongming Island, Shanghai for field investigation activities. Through on-site observation, the participating scholars had a more intuitive understanding of the field scenes of blue carbon monitoring and research.
